Hmm. What can I say about last weekend that hasn't already been documented by others? Grant and Mike showed up on Friday and we picked up Ben. Then Warcode came on Saturday. Then Wendy showed up on Sunday without warning. I finally put my futon (aka the guest bed) away last night. So many memories. Pulled over by the cops, underdressed for fancy steaks, disappointed by the restaurant within spitting distance of my balcony.
We watched E.T. on Monday night. It was kind of surreal. I could remember most of the lines even though I hadn't seen the film in a good 10 years. When I was younger, I had one of those picture books with the narration on tape and the little sound that tells you when to turn the page. Michael Jackson was the narrator. I also had a poster of Mike (in a Cosby-esque sweater) and E.T. on my wall. Turns out that the girl Elliot kisses in the frog scene went on to such memorable projects as Baywatch, The Beverly Hillbillies, and Playboy Video Playmate Calendar 1991.
