now I have to return the album on principle

So the new Massive Attack album is out and I bought it on the weekend. Then I noticed it includes some annoying copy control technology, breaking the CD standard and making it difficult to rip to a convenient format like mp3. When I did, it came out with a lot of little clicks in each song. Damn it.

I don't like is as much as Blue Lines, but maybe my annoyance over the crippled format is clouding my judgement.

cdparanoia ran into a few errors that it couldn't correct. But even if it did work properly, the point is that if consumers put up with it, record companies will keep working on counter-technology until albums can't be copied at all.

you prolly didn't like it cause it sucks, not because of the copy protection. if you want mp3's of it let me know and I'll post 'em.
