i realized this weekend that the ports on my motherboard were dying one by one from some strange port disease....
so i geeked out on sunday and went in to buy a motherboard, astonishing the sales guy when i announced that _yes_ i was going to take the motherboard home and 'try' to install in myself.
i actually managed to do in under 2 hours ... without the usual problems. well, there was the bit where i finished and turned it all on and nothing happened. but that was just because the monitor cable wasn't attached quite properly.
nothing like a false start to get the adrenaline pumping.
but now my printer works, my mouse works and my computer is very happy. ;)
wow. i've finally joined the ranks of the masses. now i can share the exciting details of my life with the world.
this whole blog thing seems a bit dangerous though. at late hours of the night, i always want to share more details than is probably prudent.
it's probably a good time to log off and go to bed.
