It turns out that in Asia, there exists a different standard for bed sizes. Unfortunately, I didn't pay as much attention to this discrepancy as I should have.

Last weekend, I found out that my Ikea Queen size bed frame is exactly 3 inches shorter than my regular queen sized mattress. Ikea HK of course, does not take returns after you have opened the box. It is a good thing that after spending so much time living with Sav - I am inspired to fix it myself. Now, armed with an electric drill, two pieces of wood, some L-brackets and a ton of screws, I have the ultimate "do-it-yourself" bed project.
