My body is failing me and I haven't even reached the quarter-century mark yet. Ack.
I went climbing at the Cliffhangers in Coquitlam on Tuesday, which left my back a little achy by Thursday. Then yesterday morning, I dropped something on my foot (between the metatarsals and ankle) which left me hobbling aroundthe office all day. Then at ultimate, some guy's knee hit my thigh and left me hobbling around even more. But that wasn't the end of it. I got home, took a nice long bath and as I was getting out, my left calf cramped up.
At this point, it just wasn't worth my while to make dinner as I figured with my luck, I'd drop a knife on my other foot, or something.
So I went to bed.
I got to ride on a coworker's motorcycle at lunch today. Whee!
For the motorcycle fanatics out there, it is a 2002 Suzuki SV 650s. I don't know what that means. All I know is it's shiny and blue. And when it goes fast, my bum goes numb.
So I walk in this morning and my lead is puzzling over why there is extra money in his bank account today. Sure, it's pay day, but there's more than his usual paycheque in his account. I go check my bank balance and, low and behold, there is extra money in my account too. There are two deposits, in fact: one that is a little bit more than usual, and another one for a couple hundred dollars.
Hooray for secret raises!
(Boo for laying people off a month ago and hiring more people during "cutbacks".)
I have obviously not learned my lesson... a coworker picked up a box of sour keys from Costco for me and now they are sitting on my desk. They are really soft though, so even after 2 days of eating them for breakfast, lunch and dinner, my tongue isn't in too bad shape. I'd say half the box is gone already.
Good thing I have a date with my dentist coming up...
