54 Weeks

Hello my friends!

I apologize for the mass e-mail, but I wanted to let all of you know about what I've been up to for the past little while.

As many of you may or may not know, I was laid off from my previous employer May 22nd, 2002. I took that opportunity to take my generous severance package and go on a travel/climbing trip to Thailand. I spent the months of July, August and September roaming the country-side, climbing, and climbing more.

Upon my chilly arrival in Vancouver, I notice that the market for computer professionals was about as cold as the weather. The search for a job was indeed impacted by the end of a tight financial year and war looming in everyones mind.

I continued to probe many of you for jobs over the following months and wanted to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for all you did for me. It has been a long year (almost 54 weeks to be exact), and the past 8 months have been some of the most stressful days in my life. Thanks for your support and encouragement during my job hunt.

I recently obtained a job at a small startup in North Vancouver, BC. (Qworks.ca). I look forward to the warm summers and climbing ahead.

I haven't heard from some of you in quite some time. I hope you are all well.

I will be trying to keep my log more up to date. You can read it here!

Cheers,

-chris
