gallery upgrade

I upgraded gallery.antiflux.org to Gallery version 1.4.4 today. The new RSS feature should be interesting. Please use gallery.antiflux.org/rss.xml instead of the built-in RSS script because it's super-slow. I'll make sure rss.xml is updated at least a few times a day. If you want it updated more often for some reason, just let me know.

The counter on the main page seems to indicate there are about 1000 fewer photos than before the upgrade. Hopefully, that's just a more accurate count. It agrees more closely with the MRTG counter I wrote a while back. But let me know if you notice anything missing.

i dig your appropriate use of fewer instead of less.

I dig the rss

princess: Thanks. I credit Mrs. Duff's grade 9 English class.

Two more things:

1. If you don't have an RSS reader handy (or even if you do...), check out my first attempt at an RSS-based page: http://gallery.antiflux.org/updates/

2. Gallery puts RSS links all over the place now, but the built-in RSS script is so god-damned slow that I broke down and read enough mod_rewrite documentation to dynamically send people to the static page instead. So go ahead click on the RSS links all you like without feeling any shame!

The updates page is good, but...

Can you show the parent album so I know whose album it is? That should be in the RSS feed, too.

'Album' and 'Last Updated' are unnecessary.

Why make a mailto link if the address is fake?

Parent albums would be handy, but aren't included in the RSS feed.

"Album" and "Last Updates" removed.

The address is real but encrypted using a trivial cypher.

I'm glad you added the owner and parent album to the feed. However, it's no longer valid (see http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fgallery.antiflux.org%2Frss.xml). Maybe you could use an existing element, such as "author" (although it's supposed to be an email address). That way other feed readers will know what to do.

Speaking of email address... yeah, I know that you're using a little obfuscation of your address. What matters is that the mailto link is broken.
