I upgraded gallery.antiflux.org from Gallery version 1.3.4 to 1.4-pl1 today.

this style sheet gives the system a bad name.

Heh. you must have done that EXACTLY when I was moving stuff around because all my pics went temporarilly 'unavailable'. :)

Thanks for the u-grade though.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the new "lime puke" green default background either, so it's back to the previous "don't panic" blue.

Check out the docs at http://gallery.antiflux.org/docs/index.html

The part on how to make a copy that you can browse offline is interesting.

will this new version let us defuck the gallery namespace?

Posted by: grant at September 17, 2003 01:25 PM

What's fucked about the gallery namespace?

Posted by: tim at September 17, 2003 04:17 PM

the same namespace is used for all users. it doesn't distinguish between usernames and album names. ugly.

Posted by: grant at September 17, 2003 05:32 PM

There aren't URLs for usernames. http://gallery.antiflux.org/tim (for example) doesn't mean it's looking for all albums belonging to me. That's just an album name that happens to be the same as my username (which I do on purpose when setting up new users). You can move albums into other albums or up to the root, so I think it keeps the flat namespace to prevent collisions and to preserve URLs when the albums are moved around.

yes, but if you change the name of an album, it doesn't name it within the context of your namespace...eg ritchie has gallery.antiflux.org/2002 nailed down and i think it's unfair to the rest of us ;)

Yeah, I know. You could prefix all your album names with your username I guess. E.g. http://gallery.antiflux.org/princess-2002 .
