I had the good fortune of inheriting someone's fax number and endured being faxed every 15 minutes from 4:30am to 7:00am, five days a week, for the better part of a year.
*69 didn't work, as it returned the number of a leased Sprint line used by some overseas fax-monster with no regard for time differences at the destination.
The thirty bucks spent changing my phone number was thirty bucks well spent, let me tell you.
Posted by cspencer at November 23, 2003 07:52 PMI'm being harassed by folks at the exact same number*, who won't identify themselves, and simply play an automated recording asking for a person who does not live here. :(
If you've since gotten anywhere dealing with these nitwits, I'd be glad to hear your experiences with them.
*It's how I found your site, I *69'd the nuisance call.
Posted by GWhite at December 22, 2003 05:17 PMThe next people who called admitted they weren't MBNA proper, but an advertising company calling on behalf of MBNA. The supervisor assured me that my number will be on the do-not-call list from now on, but warned that there may be other advertisers or MBNA themselves that will still call.
So I called MBNA again and told them to tell all their advertising affiliates to take me off their lists. She said they could stop giving out my number, but there's nothing they can do about the companies that already have it. Disgusting, isn't it?
