i hate borscht so much.
Posted by ben at January 21, 2003 10:49 PMdude... borscht is soo misunderstood.
i'm sure you'd like it if you had it with meat and cheese.
My borscht (well, foodtv.ca's borscht) includes pork side ribs. No cheese, though.
borscht borscht borscht
That's surprisingly awkward to type.
so how did it turn out in the end? i'm looking for a good borscht recipe...
Posted by lav at January 22, 2003 03:50 PMthe blood is what really makes it good.
Posted by ben at January 22, 2003 05:49 PMIt turned out very well. The recipe's called Auntie Katey's Beet Borscht of the Gods on the Food Network Canada web site.

I felt like I was cheating by using beef broth from a can, but it already took 3 hours to prepare. Next time, I'll make my own broth in advance.
Posted by tim at January 22, 2003 09:29 PMDon't worry about the blood, dude. As a wise chef once said, "There should always be a little bit of you in everything you cook."
Posted by warcode at January 22, 2003 10:37 PMi meant semen not blood!
also, i am late in defiling this thread.
also, i expected this whole thread of comments to be about giving the beets and asking for the beets and involving doling out of the beets.
