I have been using procmail to filter my mail into folders depending on the sender etc. I also use Mozilla's Thunderbird as my email client. I was getting frustrated that procmail would filter messages to separate folders but Thunderbird wouldn't highlite the folders as containing new messages. Well I found a solution to this problem here.
Its as simple as creating one file and adding one line to this file.
